Membership Meeting
This is a photograph from a NUDE membership meeting held at Arima Town Hall on the 20th of February, 2010.
The National Union for Domestic Employees was established in 1982 in Trinidad and Tobago.
NUDE fights for domestic workers and other low-paid workers whom unions refuse to represent. It fights against abuses by employers, from rape and sexual assault to withholding wages and summary dismissal, through the courts, in the media, etc, and opposes careerism in the women's movement and voluntary sector. It campaigns for domestic workers to be recognized as workers and to be protected by employment legislation.
